Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the Rooted mobile application (“Rooted,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the app on Apple devices. By using Rooted, you agree to this policy together with our Terms & Conditions.

1. Who we are

Rooted is provided by the developer identified in the App Store listing for Rooted. For privacy-related requests, use the contact options shown in that listing (for example, the developer website or support email).

2. Information the app may process

Depending on how you use Rooted, the app may process categories such as:

• On-device content and preferences. Bible text bundled or loaded for reading, reading progress, notes, journal entries, prayer items, and UI preferences stored locally on your device.
• Notifications. If you allow notifications, the operating system may show reminders (for example, reading-plan prompts). Apple’s notification services are subject to Apple’s policies.
• Sign in with Apple. Where available, you may authenticate with Apple. Apple processes authentication according to its own terms and privacy policy.
• iCloud / CloudKit. If community or sync features that use CloudKit are enabled in your build, profile or social data you choose to save may be stored in your iCloud account via Apple’s CloudKit. Apple acts as a service provider for that storage under Apple’s terms.
• Third-party streams and links. If you open livestream URLs (for example, YouTube or other HTTPS pages), those services receive requests according to their own privacy practices. Rooted does not control those third-party sites.

3. Analytics and advertising

Rooted is not designed to sell your personal information. Unless separately disclosed in-app or in an updated policy, we do not run third-party advertising SDKs in the app as part of this open-source distribution. If your installed build differs (for example, a white-label variant), refer to notices inside that build.

4. Data retention and deletion

Locally stored data remains on your device until you remove the app or delete content within the app, subject to how iOS manages app data. CloudKit-held data is managed through your Apple ID and iCloud settings as applicable.

5. Children’s privacy

Rooted is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your region). Do not use the app in violation of App Store age requirements.

6. International users

If you use Rooted from outside the United States, your information may be processed on devices and Apple services in your region or in the United States, depending on Apple’s infrastructure and your account settings.

7. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy where permitted by law.
