Terms & Conditions
Last updated: May 13, 2026
These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of the Rooted mobile application (“Rooted,” “the App”). By downloading or using Rooted, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy.
1. The service
Rooted provides software for reading the Bible (King James Version where supplied), reading plans, notes, prayer lists, and related features. Some capabilities may depend on device permissions, iOS version, or optional services such as iCloud, CloudKit, or Sign in with Apple.
2. Eligibility
You must comply with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and any age requirements that apply to your App Store account. If you use Rooted on behalf of an organization, you represent that you are authorized to do so.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use Rooted in any way that violates applicable law or infringes others’ rights.
- Attempt to reverse engineer, circumvent security, or probe systems beyond normal personal use.
- Use the App to harass, abuse, or distribute unlawful content through any community or sharing features.
- Misrepresent your identity where profile or social features are available.
4. User content
You retain rights to content you create in the App (such as notes or journal entries). You grant us only the license necessary to operate the App on your device and, where you opt in, to store and sync that content via Apple services (for example, CloudKit) as designed.
5. Third-party services
Links and embedded streams may open third-party websites or players (such as YouTube). Those services have separate terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for third-party content or availability.
6. Intellectual property
The Rooted app, its design, and original materials are protected by intellectual property laws. Bible text may be in the public domain or licensed separately; do not remove or alter required attribution if present in your build.
7. Disclaimers
Rooted is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Religious or pastoral guidance you derive from scripture is your own responsibility; Rooted is a software tool, not a substitute for professional counseling or medical advice where applicable.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or the App is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us specifically for Rooted in the twelve months before the claim, or (b) zero if the App was free. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
9. Indemnity
You agree to defend and indemnify us against claims arising from your misuse of the App or violation of these Terms, to the extent permitted by law.
10. Changes and termination
We may modify the App or these Terms. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date. We may suspend or discontinue features where necessary. You may stop using Rooted at any time by uninstalling it.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction appropriate to the developer entity named in the App Store listing, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Courts in that jurisdiction have exclusive venue unless consumer protection law in your country requires otherwise.
12. Contact
For support or legal notices, use the contact information provided in the App Store listing for Rooted.
